The course aims
Students will acquire knowledge about the role and the importance of management in managing organizations, processes and people. The goal is to develop the capacity to understand management as a process, function, science and profession. Students will know basic concepts, theories and functions of management like: planning, organizing, managing human resources and controlling, They will also be able to apply specific techniques for business decision making.

Organizing and organization structure. Human resources. Leadership. Motivation. Control - process and techniques.

Minimum learning outcomes

  1. To define management, its functions, activities and manager roles and to enumerate management skills.
  2. To explain internal and external company environment.
  3. To define planning, strategy and strategic management and enumerate different levels and types of planning.
  4. To define the concept, process and models of decision making and to enumerate decision making techniques.
  5. To define the concept and the content of organizing, to recognize organizational structure forms.
  6. To define the concept and the meaning of staff, to describe recruiting, selection, training and staff development and to enumerate performance assessment methods.
  7. To define basic leadership features, to enumerate leadership models and motivation theories.
  8. To define control process and enumerate control methods and techniques.
